On the occasion of the annual Wikimedia Côte d’Ivoire meeting (RAN), held from May 24 to 29, 2023 in Korhogo, the Wiki Kouman association was invited to lead two activities: an edit-a-thon on May 27 and a cultural evening on May 28.
The edit-a-thon was led by Rukuni Isu coordinator Brou and his assistant Koffi. More than 30 participants learned how to contribute in the Bété language to Wiktionary. At the same time, we recorded some participants speaking their mother tongue.
With the continuing aim of promoting and documenting our cultures, the cultural evening was led by all members of the bureau. Activities included learning a neighbour’s mother tongue, an educational video about Korhogo, mime and riddle games. The winners received Wiki Kouman, Wikimedia Côte d’Ivoire and RFI goodies—T-shirts, water bottles and stickers. It was an enriching experience for the whole team.
